The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.....

Tis the season to….. Freak Out!!! This time of the year is what some will say is the best time of the year while others disagree. For some this time of year is filled with food, family and fun, and others this time is filled with the absence of loved ones or the reality of not having family and friends to fellowship with. So what is it about the holidays that drive folks crazy? This time of year can bring out the best in people and situations. The atmosphere is always happy and jolly people seem to have a pep in their step, pastries and goodies show up out the blue everyday from co-workers and who don't love free food. People who you don’t normally deal with you can talk holiday talk with. You are happy to see your family, and the relatives you don’t see often come around. Maybe the stuck up person in the family falls from cloud nine and enjoys some of the old family traditions. Somehow you always find yourself looking back and reflecting on childhood stories…Goodtimes!!! And you know that family member, neighbor, coworker or friend will make your favorite dish that you have asked them to make all during the year. But on the other hand the holidays will force you to deal and come in contact with people you put out your life for a reason. It’s really hard to celebrate holidays when a loved one is absent; the old memories of them always seem to have you feeling down. It seems as if the holidays go out of their way to make you think about your loved ones who are not with you. It becomes stressful when you are not financially able to purchase things for holidays food, decorations, toys for the children, that new outfit (don’t act like you don’t know). Also it’s the time of year when couples (married or dating) have to choose which family you are celebrating with or which house to start and end with. And don’t let one of the families live out of town… extra money and stress. You have to deal with that monster in law or the father from hell. The entire visit you will be wondering if your mate’s family will accept you, will the food be good, what questions will his family ask, am I dressed decent enough for grandma…. Stress on top of stress!! Do you run and hideout for the next few weeks? Or do you embrace the holidays and count down the days until it’s over? So I figured I would write a few holiday pieces to make humor of the upcoming holidays…. The song does say “tis the season to be jolly”
