Move Over Rachel Zoe.... It's time for June to shine!!

Now I love me some Rachel Zoe....But I am super excited that June Ambrose will have a show coming to VH1 at the beginning of the year. Why am I excited? She is a "Mocha Mommy" .We all know that there are great black stylist, so its long over due for us to be spotlighted. And what better person then June Ambrose, Sixteen years in the game and she has made a name for herself!! Mary J, Mariah Carey, Sean Combs and Jay-Z are just a few celebrity's she has worked for. Her career begun as a intern for MCA records... with that foundation she sored to the top. In one year she was the most nominated stylist for music videos. She started her own company the "Mod Squad" in 1994. The company help stars look fresh in videos and everyday life, they also help those who are trying to lunch and re lunch their career. After years of hard work she is now taking a backseat and now helps out with the creative side of the business, which allows her to raise her family. I am sure you can google her to get more info on her. I have done my homework on her and she is a very talented and humble person. The one thing that stands out about her is her eye wear and head pieces she rocks some fabulous shades and turbans. Make sure you be on the look out for her show....and support her!!

Sometimes it's just better to be QUIET

I love engaging in conversations with friends and strangers alike. But sometimes I may go quiet during a conversation and sometimes folks ask...whats wrong? As I have aged I have learned that sometimes you just have to be quiet!!! Everyone knows a person who wants to lead and control any conversation... and yes it gets on my nerves. This is how I see it there are times that I may have a story or comment about a certain subject or person.... But I choose not to speak because I don't think people care about my opinion and also after so many stories I will begin to come off as a liar . Maybe that's crazy but that's how I feel about people who always talk over people with their life stories and views!! Allow others to lead the conversation sit back and take in others point of view. I think if you see other people simply agreeing with you or... looking unconcerned or maybe even trying to change the subject. You have successfully ruined the conversation. I would rather have people engaging in what I am talking about and maybe even puzzled at what I am saying, that would lead me to believe I am allowing them to be part of the conversation. I think there is a time and place for everything and sometimes you just have to hold on to your thoughts of others. I don't care if "Everyone" is thinking it let them... I share my thoughts with people In my small circle ..and its not because I am scared its just not fair for me to press my judgements and thoughts on people. Even with my friends I try not to insult their feeling or choices they make in partners,friends,dress etc. I mean sometimes you have to speak on certain situations but that should be few and far between. I know by now some of you are wondering what is this post for.... You if you are that person!! Allow others to have the floor and see how your friends react to it!! War on Wages....

As hard as it is to find a good job that pays a decent wage..... Some women have another war when it comes to making more then their mates. This topic can really become such a touchy topic among men and women. Back in the day men brought home the "Bacon" and women fried it!!! Life was sweet... As times progressed women entered the work place and found a place.... So now you have women doing jobs that men dominated in...and that's where the issues started!! Why would a man want to loose to a women in any fact... Its just not the law of the land!! So when women enter the court room and walked out with a victory...when a women put on a uniform and out perform her male counterparts...the male ego kicked in... Now you have women calling shots...Running companies and Bringing home the "Entire Pig". So whats the issue? Well in some cases women are not as "submissive" and "Needy" as some may have been back in the old days. If I am making six figures why do I need to ask my husband about buying a new dress... I just may buy two!! I think men see that as a threat to their manhood... And in reality as a man you should be happy to have a women who can do for herself I think Jay said it best "Whatever she lacks,I'm right over her shoulder...when I am off track mami is keeping my focused" Which to me should work both ways!! I think when you are with someone a women should not downgrade or step down from a life or passion that want because of a Man's ego or anyone for that matter. Now ladies you have to make sure not to throw it in a man's face every time you get a chance. Your friends,family, co workers,facebook,twitter followers should not know that your man is lacking in the finance area, They should only assume!! It really bothers me when a women does that...so why are you with him? So the question is How do you feel about this topic....discuss at work and give me feedback!!

Letter to my Readers.....

I have been very busy lately with a few things... I just started a new job!!! Between getting things ready for my new endeavor and Closing things out with my old job... I have been swamped!!! Great State Of Texas

As some of you may have read or watched on the news the state of Texas is battling a blaze that has burned over 33,000 acres in and around the Bastrop area. More than 1,400 homes have been consumed as of this morning. Most of the residents are finding out from photos from people that have been sneaking into the fire zone, and from fireman or volunteer workers. They also posted lists of streets and areas that where consumed. Along with this huge blaze 19 other fires have popped up throughout the surrounding areas. After reading a few facebook updates about the fires, I came across a few pictures(above) Some are also from other web pages.... Someone that I know has some family members who have been affected by the fires.. Please make sure to keep all the families in your prayers but say a special prayer for Ruschelle Washington and her family. Also if you would like to donate money to help the victims. Please make sure to do your research to make sure these sites are secure. Take a look at the picture of the bull... he seems mighty upset!!! Take time and pray and donate.

Drug Test And Welfare?

As some of you may have heard or read... Under a new Florida law when applying for welfare you have to take a drug test at your own expense. If you fail you will not be able to receive the benefits for a year, If you pass the state reimburses you. And to dig deeper its becoming a popular idea with other states. Indiana also want to not only limit it to welfare they want to use the same model for those applying for unemployment benefits. Here are some key arguments for each side.

Those for it:
1. Think its unfair for taxpayers to have to foot the bill to support homebody's drug habit.
2. This will be able to weed out those abusing the system.

Those against it:
1. How can a person applying for the benefits have the money to pay for a drug test?
2. Drug use is not only contained to those applying for welfare and unemployment. Why should the poor and underprivileged be the target.

So there you have it, I am sure as more states adopt these laws the issue will heat up. But the question is where you stand. I would love feedback.... Take it to the water cooler, Happy hour and tell me what others think as well.

Its finally True Beyonce is have a baby!!! You would have thought we all knew her personally, well I can not speak for others but I was happy. It was just a beautiful moment all around and the look on jay face...priceless! One thing that bothers me the most about last night is the fact so many people where being so negative worried about the looks of her bundle kind of over shadowing her moment by " I hope the baby looks like her not jay" and I totally get that. But really folks You may want to look in the mirror, and you would be upset if someone said the same about you and yours. Wishing them the best.... I am sure I will post pics of her and her baby bump every now and then... You Ready Bey?

Unanswered Prayers

When people make the comment "I am so in love with myself" I always thought duh...that's just a fact of nature Everyone love themselves. More and more each day I am totally understanding what that term fully means. Growing up I knew what I wanted Husband,Kids, and a dog. Lately things have changed.Before you dismiss this as one of those " I love being single"rants... having those things are still in my plans. But the other day it hit me that I have been blessed not to have some of those prayers answered. When you have time make sure to listen to the old Garth brooks song called unanswered prayers its really a great song. I think motherhood is great but was I ready for that all those times I wished I could have a child... would I have been half the mother I had? Would my child have all that I had as a child? I would like to say yes but, the truth is I had a lot to learn and still have a lot to learn... Sometimes I wake up and just want to lay in bed and do nothing... sometimes I want to come home and not cook.... Sometimes I just want to hop on the next plane south of nowhere..... Would that have been fair to my child? Would I have resented my child for breaking up the party? Would I have dropped it all? The answer to that could never be answered. What if that guy I thought was my prince charming asked for my hand... and I said Yes? Would I been able to... Cook dinner to satisfy him, Would I have been selfless enough? Would I have worked hard to compliment his life?Would I keep him interested? Its a fact that nature molds us and for the most part I could have been a great mother and wife, But its also a fact that you should never rush nature. Sometimes people make you feel Bad or even less than for not being a mother or wife. I am so sick of "Chiquita you next or Chiquita you need to have a Baby... How about it's not written for me yet I think when My time arrives you all will be entertained. If that's what you are looking for, or maybe you think I am unhappy. I know I am not the only person going threw the " Your clock is ticking stage" And I get it but... Not everyone get it!! You never know what the person you are teasing with " You old as dirt" jokes is going threw. Maybe that person it trying to have children and is unsuccessful, Maybe they want to be married but have not found that special one yet!! I am sure in the next few years I will be on the road to motherhood and maybe even married.. Just let me get there on my own... just because he doesn't answer doesn't mean he don't care some of gods greatest gifts are his unanswered prayers!!
